Jutter festival

Also this year there is a festivity again on the Dorpsweide of Wijk aan Zee. For the sixth time the yearly Jutter festival takes place there. No exposition of curiosities found on the beach, but a musical spectacle of the highest level! Big and less big names from the world of jazz, pop, cabaret and world music brotherly enter the stage. In the loose and relaxed atmosphere being so characterizing for the Jutter festival there is no doubt everybody will come into his/her musical own.

Corus Chess Tournament

The Corus Chess Tournament in Wijk aan Zee is a chess tournament held every year in January. The tournament is named after the main sponsor Corus. It is one of the biggest and strongest tournaments in the world and exists since 1938. The village enjoys its familiarity because of the Corus Chess Tournament. A mega-event finished by a traditional meal of pea soup together with all participants.
